Helping Hands for Wounded Veterans is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help wounded soldiers return to work using assistive technology. This non-profit organization aims to create a healthy learning environment that stimulates the senses and teaches wounded soldiers and other individuals with disabilities to re-integrate into society.Over 53,000 US soldiers have returned home disabled. More than 58 million Americans have disabilities. The use of assistive technology helps disabled Americans by enhancing their abilities to adapt and perform to the highest degree. Helping Hands for Wounded Veterans will be successful because there is no criterion to be met, as there is with the US government. Although the government has programs to help disabled Americans, there simply is not enough money for everyone. Helping Hands for Wounded Veterans is the non-profit organization that will help those in need. The assistive technology offered by Helping Hands for Wounded Veterans is made specifically for those individuals and is creatively integrated into the outdoors. By using the outdoors, it helps disabled Americans to see that they are still able to enjoy and perform in life's activities, as well as participating in the working world.
Helping Hands for Wounded Veterans will concentrate on three target principles:
- Making assistive technology available for use.
- An aggressive Return to Work Program.
- Work directly with Corporate America to follow hiring trends in various industries.
Our census data indicates that a mere 56.6% of more than 30 million disabled Americans aged 21-64 are employed. Data also indicates that only 30% of severely disabled Americans within working ages are employed. The Return to Work portion of Helping Hands for Wounded Veterans is prepared to fill the void of unemployed disabled Americans.
Helping Hands for Wounded Veterans is looking to create this organization with a twist; to hire disabled soldiers and expand career opportunities for other disabled individuals. We will be one of the few organizations in the United States focusing on hiring and employing disabled veterans with over 18 plus years of experience in assistive technology and twice as many years in business.
WELCOME HOME TO ALL VETERANS
